Darryl Hines
Darryl Alexander Hines is a native of
Cleveland, Ohio now residing in Lilburn,
Georgia. After a  long hiatus  he has
recently returned to his passion, the
creative arts. While practicing law has
been his vocation he feels that true
expression is through visual
communication.

Darryl attended the Cleveland Institute of
Art, The Cooper School of Art and
participated in the Cleveland Museum of
Art’s Program for Gifted Students. He
was the recipient of the Martha Holden
Jennings Foundation’s Scholarship and
studied at the Chautauqua Institute in
Chautauqua, New York as part of his high
school studies. He also won a gold key in
the National Scholastic Art Competition
and had his work displayed in New York
City.

A versatile artist, Darryl describes his
work as ranging from the sublimely
realistic to conceptually abstract in theme
and colors. He is currently working on a
thematic body of work he calls, “Icons”
which features interpretational portraits
of some of the most iconic figures in
American jazz and blues. He is also
working on a body of abstract paintings
based on photographs of the Earth taken
from satellites, which he calls, “A View
From the Heavens.” It is his hope to bring
further awareness of the beauty and
fragility of our planet.
